2008 DIPLOMA COURSE IN  ESSENTIAL OIL THERAPY FOR ANIMALS

What is essential oil therapy for animals?

The traditional use of essential oils to promote and maintain balance in all systems of the body. In the wild animals seek out a natural remedy from various herbs and plants, instinctively picking out their own medication. In a domestic environment they are deprived of this choice. Essential Oil Therapy for Animals offers a natural choice of relief from many common physical and emotional problems in animals such as: allergies, arthritis, behavioural problems and vices, COPD and other respiratory conditions, digestive disorders, hoof and foot conditions, headshaking, laminitis, mud-fever, muscular problems, sarcoids and warts, sidebone, skin conditions, stress, viruses, urinary disorders and wounds.

Aims of the course:

The Diploma course in Essential Oil Therapy for Animals is designed to give every student a sound and practical understanding of this unique approach to natural animal health care. Our aim is to provide a high standard of education so that by the end of the course participants will leave equipped with the knowledge of 48 essential oils and their safe use with animal patients. We aim to train students to a high professional standard, thus enhancing the quality and credibility of this field of complementary therapy.

Course Outline:

For the Monthly module course, there are four elements of the course spread over nine months. Modules comprising 60% theory and 40% practical work are taught once per month. Comprehensive course notes will be given out with each module. Numbers are strictly limited thus ensuring maximum individual attention.

1) The study of 48 essential oils, their therapeutic effects and safety issues.

2) Kinesiology

3) Animal Health, Welfare and Veterinary Matters with Nigel Dodman MRCVS

4) Essential Oil Chemistry with Ian Smith MSc.
